APARTMENT

I thought I would take this post to give you a better idea of where we live in Buenos Aires...

Our apartment is in a residential neighborhood of Buenos Aires that's on the northwest side called Villa Urquiza.  It's kind of its own little bubble in the city.  There are substantially fewer pieces of dog poop on the sidewalk, and I always feel safe walking around here, even at night.  There aren't any bars or hip places to go, but those things are not too far away either.

We live in a tower complex with a small green area, a nice pool, a gym and sauna, a shared theater, and a common room available for residents.  It is a new building, and Roman was the first one to purchase an apartment in it two years ago.  He had the entire complex to himself for several months before more neighbors moved in.

Our apartment is very small, but it has helped me realize how much space I actually need, which is not a lot.  In fact, living here, I have begun to truly appreciate how lucky I am just to have a roof over my head.  I'm not saying that before I didn't appreciate it, but it was more of the 'yeah, yeah, I know I'm lucky.'  Now, I see so many people living on the street everyday, and I know that it is for no other reason than luck.  They were born into a certain situation in life and I was lucky enough to be born into mine.  The least I can do is to truly appreciate what I have.

Anyway, I wandered a little there.  So here are some pictures from our apartment:

And for your enjoyment, here is our tower's website...
