We stayed at a cozy bed and breakfast, where we were the only guests. Our room was clean, new, pretty, and comfortable. I think Román breathed a sigh of relief when we walked in, because our last hotel stay in Argentina didn't go so well. The land around us was beautiful and made me want to simultaneously reenact the hills are alive part from The Sound of Music as well as jump on a horse and ride off into the sunset with a lasso.

View from the window and a hammock that my mother would love.
Tandil is famous for some of its rock formations, so we were sure to visit them. The most famous of the rocks, La Movediza, stood balancing on a cliff until 1912, when it fell, crashing to the rocks below. The Argentines, however, decided to replace the rock with a fake in 2007 and they even have a theme park planned. The view from the top of the cliff is great, but honestly, you can tell it's a fake rock.

La cascada. It's there. Look harder.

Also in Tandil, we hiked to a waterfall, Román fell in some mud (it was awesome but sad), we visited another rock formation, and we had dinner at an adorable restaurant....pictures below:

A typical pulperia.
They let us senior citizens in early.
Normally restaurants don't open for dinner until 9:00.
