'MERICA VISIT

Román and I have just arrived back in Buenos Aires after our month-long trip to the US.  Although I miss my friends and family terribly already, I'm feeling refreshed and less stressed.  I have a couple weeks of absolutely nothing ahead of me before our trip to Peru.

No school. No work. Nothing.

We returned to the US (sometimes known as Usa in Argentina) in February so that I could take the comprehensive examination  required for my Master's program.  So, the first several days of my trip were spent freaking out, studying, and freaking out some more.  Luckily, Román was extremely supportive during this time and gave me countless de-stressing shoulder massages and pep talks.  I also have to thank him for cooking every single meal and catering to my every need.  When it snowed, he even volunteered to shovel the driveway by himself so I could keep studying.

After this picture, I taught Román the difference between a garden shovel and a snow shovel.

After the exam, the rest of our vacation passed by quickly.  We visited family and friends, and we tried to make it to all of our favorite places and restaurants.  Below are some pictures from our stay in Michigan, our trips to Grand Rapids and DC, and our last week at Disney World.

DC was quite cold, as you can tell from the frozen fountain and waterfall outside the Museum of the American Indian.

We celebrated my friend Annie's birthday by having an Academy Awards party.

Román loved our trip to Founder's Brewery in Grand Rapids while visiting my aunt and uncle.  Michigan does have amazing beer!

Our trip to Disney was fabulous!  Román spent most of the time with his mouth hanging open.

We just filed Román's visa application today, so whenever it is approved, we will be back in the US again....possibly homeless and penniless, but at least back.  We are expecting to have between five and seven months left in Buenos Aires, so you all better book your plane tickets soon to come visit!  Seriously though, we plan to make the most of our time here before we leave and to appreciate where we are in the present moment.
